Mkhitar Hayrapetyan Meets with Ambassador of Iran to RA Abbas Badakhshan Zohouri

On August 5, the Chair of the RA NA Standing Committee on Science, Education, Culture, Diaspora and Sport, the Head of Armenia-Iran Friendship Group Mkhitar Hayrapetyan met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the RA Abbas Badakhshan Zohouri.

Mkhitar Hayrapetyan informed that he was elected Head of Armenia-Iran Friendship Group several weeks ago, and, first of all, that election was the decision of his political team. According to him, it has been conditioned also by the fact that he is an Orientalist, as well as he has always realized the value and price of the Armenian-Iranian relations.

The Head of the Friendship Group has underlined that the strengthening of the friendship ties with the Islamic Republic of Iran is important for the Republic of Armenia now as it was before.

The Chair of the Standing Committee expressed hope that the Ambassador would contribute with his activities to the further deepening of the historical, friendly and cultural between the two countries.

The parties also discussed the opportunities of the Armenian-Iranian agenda, as well as expanding the cooperation in different spheres.

The Ambassador Abbas Badakhshan Zohouri expressed readiness to support the further active cooperation between the two countries on the parliamentary, as well as on different platforms.

The meeting took place in the symbolic place, in the building of the Armenian Federation of Historical Monuments Conservation, which had been the residence of the Persian Consul of the November revolution from 1873 to 1920.
